From One Lawn to Something Bigger

This business started the way many great ones do—with a mower, a few neighborhood clients, and a lot of drive. What made it different was the work ethic behind it.

At just 14 years old, Mitch Helmbrecht launched Central MN Lawn, offering lawn care services to friends, neighbors, and anyone willing to give him a shot. He didn’t just cut grass—he paid attention to details, showed up when he said he would, and always left things looking better than he found them.
​
What began with a handful of yards in Buffalo, Minnesota quickly grew into a steady schedule. Word spread. By high school, Mitch had a small trailer, real equipment, and a long list of happy customers who knew they could count on him.

The work was physical, but that’s what Mitch loved about it. He liked starting early, being outside, and ending the day with something to show for it. Every summer, every fall cleanup, every project added a little more experience—and a little more vision for what this business could become.

It didn’t take long before mowing turned into much more.
As Mitch’s experience grew, so did the scope of the work. He learned how to install irrigation systems, shape natural landscapes, build retaining walls, and restore lakeshores. The projects got bigger. The equipment got better. But the mindset stayed the same: do it right, take pride in your work, and treat people well.

As the business expanded beyond lawn care, it became clear that a new name was needed—something that reflected both the range of services offered and the kind of company it was becoming. That’s when Central MN Lawn became All Terrain Landscaping.

With a growing team, strong leadership, and a shared commitment to quality, All Terrain quickly became known as the go-to experts for lakeshore restoration, custom hardscapes, and full-service outdoor solutions. We’ve built trusted relationships with hundreds of homeowners, cabin owners, and businesses across Minnesota by focusing on honest work, real results, and the kind of service people remember.
